Victory in the Storm
When the praises go up, the victory comes down. Let me say that again. When the praises go up, the victory comes down.
Have you ever planned a perfect day? Wanted a Bar-B-Que? Planned to go shopping and then have a dinner out. Your brother or sister called you up and said "lets have a dinner party!"
We start out our life with great plans, expectations, Johnny or Bobby will go to school. you will live in a nice home. You will have money for everything that you need. We are that certain that Nothing will spoil what we have planned.
Then all of a sudden we get hit by the thundering storms of life and it happens so fast that we don't even see it coming at us. Just like the people in Joplin didn't see that tornado coming and many lost their lives because of it. Can you tell that the storms are stronger this year? Doesn't it seem like each one lately has tornadoes or high winds and hail with it?
Other times the storms get more drastic and life changing. A divorce comes along. He or she is seeing another partner and no longer wants you to be number one in his/her life. Or a death in the family hits you hard and you don't think that you can make it another day. You lose your Mom and Dad or brother, or uncle, or even grandma and the world for you is turned upside down. How can we fathom that? We can't.
Its the storms of life and we can't see them coming before they get here. We can't tell if they are going to be tornadoes, or just small thunderstorms. But they do have an affect on us. Sometimes, the storms come and go as quietly as they came. Other times when the storm clouds clear, then we are devastated when we see the damage done in terms of our lives.
During the storms of life, we have two options: We can let the storms defeat us and say Whats the use? or we can defeat the storms of life and still fulfill our destiny. I ask you today What storms have you faced today?
Has your life been turned upside down. What things are you struggling with? Is it getting too hard for you and yours. Are the storms of debt and finances driving you crazy? Is something happening in your life that you feel that you have absolutely no control over?
Did you know that Jesus is the load bearer. That Jesus can take all of your worrisome burdens and set you free from worry and care. Did you know that if you praise him in the storm that the victory will come to you. I can guarantee you that he will take your burdens. All you have to do is give them to him. You can have victory in the storm. And remember when the praises go up that Gods victory comes down.
